About Me
Shedeka (she/they) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), and Meditation and Yoga Teacher. She is devoted to nurturing and balancing the sweet nectar (soma) of her daily practice (sadhana), constantly learning, practicing, forgetting, and remembering how to get out of the "way" so life can lead.
Shedeka's path to healing began as a quest to manage anxiety and migraine symptoms, evolving into a transformative exploration of yoga and Ayurveda. This journey not only provided relief from symptoms but also unveiled a deeper understanding of true embodiment.
Her approach transcends symptom management. She believes true transformation lies in nurturing balance and alignment with our whole true self, harmonizing our bodies, hearts, and minds. This philosophy encourages embracing life's mysteries while cultivating skills and tools for resilience and balance.
Shedeka's personal experience infuses her work with authenticity, enabling her to guide others on their path to balance and self-discovery with empathy and insight. Her work creates a welcoming space to reconnect, transform, and thrive authentically in an ever-changing world.
Originally from Taíno land (Jamaica), she currently resides and works on Osage, Miami, Sioux, and Kiikaapoi land (Missouri), where she is the founder of Soma Sadhana Yoga Therapy and Well-being LLC. She offers in-person and virtual yoga therapy sessions and specializes in grounding techniques, cultivating self-compassion, and nervous system regulation—powerful tools that have been instrumental in her own journey.
